What are the benefits of Homestay?
Homestay provides you with a unique opportunity to enjoy Australian family life first hand and to improve your English through day-to-day conversation with your host family.
It would also enable you to learn both the language and customs quickly. Moreover, you would be personally helping to create friendly relations and promote understanding and appreciation of the values of the respective cultures.
How would a Homestay family be selected for me?
All students are provided with a profile of their future family prior to arrival in Australia. Placements are carefully considered and some reference is made to the student's requests in the family profile that they receive. In addition, specific guidelines are followed when placing students. For example, two students of the same nationality are not placed in the same homestay unless requested and we also take into account the acceptable ratio of students per family. Furthermore, a student is not placed with a family who speaks their language.
What is family life like in an Australian home?
Australia is a multicultural society. Often the " Australian " household has its origins from many other countries. This diverse background provides an interesting mix of cultures and cuisine. Australians are a tolerant, straightforward, gentle, fun loving and open-minded race of people. Just as meeting people from other countries enriches Australians, your host family will enrich you.
Where are Homestay houses located?
